A serious Lack of Crafty people...
This morning in the car on the way to work I was thinking about all my crafty pursuits, and then I got to thinking that what I really have are what people would call "homemaker skills" Despite that fact that I hold down a very busy, very technical job I still enjoy all the same pursuits that my grandmother would have enoyed (not my mother, she was a bra burner wild child) I'm the traditionalist, sort of. I would consider the following as home maker type pursuits, including but not limited to:
- Sewing
- Baking
- Knitting
- Crocheting
- Cross Stitching/embroidery
- Cooking
I'm not saying I'm a pro at any of these things, but I enjoy them all. The point here is that almost nobody I know enjoys ANY of these things. Everyone I know is into instant cakes, frozen dinners, store bought halloween costumes and gifts.
Now I dont go all pioneer and do EVERYTHING myself, but I've been known to sew a cosutme, Bake bread (with and without a breadmaker) cook a roast, knit a sweater etc etc. And I feel very Craft Lonely these days. None of my family or friends are really interested in talking "shop" with me.... But everytime I go to Michaels for supplies the place is packed, so there must be other crafty people out there.... Whoever you are, why dont I know you!!! Okay, heres my personal ad, all responses in the comments please and I promise to call you back! LOL

| Married Female seeks multi crafty person to stich and bitch with. Recipe swapers welcome. Must own a 'stash' of some kind and be armed with knowledge of sales at LYS. Anyone who is SABLE is preferred. |
I guess folks I LOVE reading blogs, and researching techniqes and patterns online.... but nothing beats a cold drink or a cuppa tea/coffee and the companionship of someone who shares your interests.

aaaaaaAAAAHH, FREAK OUT! 2 comments from two different April's freaky =) lol
I feel for ya, girl, thank goodness I have my sis, or I probably would go crazy, or drive my husband crazy talking to him about yarn. You'll just have to 'Convert' one of your normal girl friends by posting a sign that says, "I'll teach you to knit, for free - class openings limited" | |

Hey Shannon.
If I lived closer I'd be there ;)
I haven't gotten into knitting yet, but I intend to learn as soon as I get paid. Now that the kids are a little older I have SOME time to do something.
I have a sewing machine sitting in the other room just waiting for me to use it. Again no time for it :(
I love baking and plan on making croissants this weekend, I just need a day off work to get it done.
Cooking though is NOT my thing. Dean does all the cooking.
I also want to get into other crafts, and sell them at pow wows, but that wont be for a while yet. Cant sell stuff and watch 2 kids, and Dean at the same time ;)
Anyway take care
April
